Sell to CeX help

General Questions:

I don’t live in the UK. Can I still sell you my goods online?
Unfortunately we currently only offer this service to UK residents.

Is there a minimum I can sell to you?
There are no minimum units or a minimum value you have to meet on any given order.

How do you determine how much you pay for my goods?
We have a team dedicated to setting our buy-in prices, and they aim to give you as much as possible for your goods.

Do you share my personal details with third parties?
We will not share or disclose any of your personal details.

How old do I have to be before I can sell goods to CeX through the website?
We require you to be at least 16 years old to sell your goods through our website.

I used to have an account here. Why does it not work anymore?
We have changed the whole system that runs Webuy.com and sadly it was not feasible to bring the old user accounts across to the new system.



Payment Questions:

What payment options are available to me?
We currently offer CeX vouchers, cheques, PayPal and bank transfer. Only one method can be selected per order.

How long will it take to get my money?
Once we receive your goods we will get to work immediately, and we will endeavour to test and process payments within a week.
You must ensure that correct details and address are supplied, as CeX cannot be held responsible for funds not reaching you due to incorrect information being provided to us.

Where will my payment go?
Once the order has been completed, CeX will make the payment to you. We currently issue payment via one of the following methods:

Please ensure that, where appropriate, your Bank account, Paypal and address details are valid to ensure prompt payment. Also note that a bank account can only be linked to a single CeX website membership.

*Receiving funds via Paypal may incur a fee. Please check with PayPal for current rates. CeX do not cover this fee/charge.



What CeX will buy:

What do you buy?
Broadly, we buy things that fall into the categories: Gaming, DVD, Computing, Electronics and Phones. You have to be able to find the item on our website for you to sell it to us through the site.

I cannot find some of my goods on your site.  What do I do now?
Please WeCare the details of the item. If it’s something we trade in, we will add it to our database.

What happens if you reject something I send you?
Depending on what you requested us to do with your goods, we will either return them to you at our cost, or we will dispose of the goods on your behalf.

Do you buy items that no longer have their original box?
Yes, we will buy unboxed phones and electronics. Please note we will not buy unboxed games or DVDs.

Do you buy items  that are missing their instructions?
Yes, we do. However, please note that PC CD-ROM games which require a CD key must contain their manual.

Some of my goods don’t look too good.  Will you still buy them?
We will buy your goods as long as they work as intended; in extreme cases we may reject badly damaged goods.

Do you buy DVDs other than region 2?
We only buy Region 2 DVDs and those Region 0 DVDs that have been classified by the BBFC.

Do you pay more for items that have never been used/opened?
Yes, Although we treat all the goods we buy as second hand, the price we pay for certain items can vary depending on the condition of your items.

Please note that when selling your phone to CeX, we will determine the condition of your phone after we have fully tested the item, and will value it accordingly.

What if I cannot decide which grade my item is?
All items are tested upon arrival by our in house testing team. Some items will arrive with incorrect grades and need to be changed. We understand that as a customer grading your items can be tricky, if the grades of any of your items are changed for any reason you will receive an email from our testing team notifying you of the change and further instructions to proceed with your order. Please be aware that you will be contacted via the email address that you provided in your online selling account.

What condition should my Games, DVD's, BluRay's and other software be in?
Some of these items can be worth different values depending on condition, it is important to pay close attention to our product descriptions to yield the most value from your items when selling to us.+ to avoid delays to your order.

Some items will have an (S) at the end of the description on our website, this represents the requirement for the item to remain sealed. These items may sometimes still be available to sell if they have been used at a lower price. Please be aware that any items sent to us that are unsealed with the (S) on the description will be changed to their unsealed counterparts, items that can only be bought as sealed and are sent unsealed will be disposed of or returned based on your original order requirements.

We may also reduce the price if the quantity being sold by a customer of an identical item exceeds two [2] units within a period of one [1] month.

Can I sell multiples of the same item?
Prices displayed on our website are offered on the basis that you are selling in one of each item, and the value offered is honoured for the time period shown of 5 working days for us to receive your goods. If you wish to sell multiple copies your order may be classed as a bulk buy, as such these items may be subject to a price change. If this happens you will be contacted by email, informing you of what change will be made to the value of each item sent and you will have 5 working days to respond. Failure to respond will be seen as your agreement to accept the new value offered. (This will slow down your payment for goods and it is in your best interest to agree to or refute the price offered as soon as you receive the email to avoid delay in payment.)

Any discount applied will be limited to being no lower than the current listed CeX Sell-To price of the item at the point of receipt of your goods.



Order Questions:

Can I track the status of my Sell-to-CeX orders online?
Yes, once you are logged in you can track your orders.

Once an order has been placed, can I change how rejected goods are dealt with?
Unfortunately once an order has been placed you cannot change the way rejected goods are dealt with, or change the payment method.

How long have I got to send you my goods once I placed my order?
Your goods must be received by CeX Ltd at the designated location within 5 working days of your order being placed. Quoted prices may vary or orders may be cancelled if goods are not received within this period.



Shipping Questions:

CeX is not responsible for any goods or extra items sent that are not included in your order !

How do I post my order(s) to you?
When sending items to us, you will need to use our shipping label. Please download this using the link below and attach to your package. Please make sure this is securely and clearly placed on any package that you send to us, as this will cover your postage costs, and ensure that the package is adequately marked with your order number.

The shipping label must be used to meet Royal Mail rules (to comply with EU regulations) that will ensure specified low risk items can be transported safely through the UK postal network.

Whilst we may cover your postage costs, we do suggest sending your return via a tracked/insured method of postage, such as Royal Mail Recorded/Special Delivery - CeX cannot take responsibility for goods/orders that cannot be accounted for.

What method should I use?
CeX recommends using a method of postage such as Royal Mail Recorded/Special Delivery for an added level of security.

How should I package the goods I send to you?
Please package your goods securely in order to prevent damage while in transit. Please do not use shredded paper as a box filler. Please ensure the order number is clearly visible on the outside of the box (preferably written boldly with a marker pen).
Please ensure all items within an order are packaged together in one box.
It is very important that you remove all cellophane wrapping on games and DVDs. All application software, as well as PC CD ROM games with limited user registrations, must be in its original box, full retailing packaging and sealed.
Please note: We reserve the right to return any parcel that does not have the order number clearly marked on the outside of the box, or if it contains sealed games and DVDs.

What happens if my goods are lost or damaged during transit?
CeX cannot be held responsible for any items which are damaged or lost during transit. We recommend you take out insurance on the delivery of your goods to protect you in the event of this occurring.

Donations:

How can I donate on Sell-to-CeX?
When you sell your items to CeX and choose payment by cheque, PayPal or bank transfer you will be able to donate part or all of the total amount to one of the charities we work with. CeX will pass your donation on in full with no deductions (although please see 'What happens to the donation value if CeX re-grade my items or if they fail test?').

What charities can I donate to?
When you choose to make a donation, you will be presented with a list of charities. You can select one charity per order.

What happens to the donation value if CeX re-grade my items or if they fail test?
If your item(s) need to be regraded (reduced in value), the amount donated will be reduced. If you have chosen to donate part of the value of your items, no donation will be paid If the reduction in value is greater than the value of donation originally chosen.

If the value of the items we don't buy exceeds the value of the donation, no donation will be made and the amount of money you will receive will be reduced.

Will you pass my contact details onto the charity?
We take your privacy seriously. You can decide when you make your donation whether or not you would like the charity to be given your contact details.
